When can I change Medicare plans?
If you are eligible for Medicare, you can choose a new plan during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP). This runs from October 15 through December 7. You don’t have to switch plans every year, but you should know your options. That way you can decide whether it’s the right time to make a change.

Enrollment periods to know about

Initial Enrollment Period (IEP):
This is the seven month window for you to enroll around your 65th birthday. It starts three months before your birthday and ends three months after your birthday.
Annual Enrollment Period (AEP):
This runs every year October 15 to December 7.
Special Enrollment Period (SEP):
This is an enrollment period for special circumstances. This could include a move out of your plan’s service area, eligibility changes and more.
