When can I change Medicare plans?
If you are eligible for Medicare, you can choose a new plan during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP). This runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. You don’t have to switch plans every year, but you should know your options. That way you can decide whether it’s the right time to make a change.
Combining care and coverage
The Medicare Advantage plans with HealthPartners UnityPoint Health offer options that fit your needs, making it easy to get care and coverage together. You can get all your insurance through one plan. And you can continue seeing UnityPoint Health doctors (or other doctors in the network).
Enrollment periods to know about
There are some Medicare enrollment timelines that are important to know about. These include:

Initial Enrollment Period (IEP):
This is the seven month window for you to enroll around your 65th birthday. It starts three months before your birthday, includes your birthday month, and ends three months after your birthday.
Annual Enrollment Period (AEP):
This runs every year Oct. 15 to Dec. 7.
Special Enrollment Period (SEP):
This is an enrollment period for special circumstances. This could include a move out of your plan’s service area, eligibility changes and more.
Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period
This runs every years from January 1 to March 31. It’s a one-time opportunity for Medicare Advantage enrollees to change their plans.
